Father Dan Ward and Saint John’s Abbey could learn from Cardinal Keith O’Brien.
According to CNN:
A cardinal at the center of an international scandal over alleged sexual abuse reversed course Sunday and apologized.
“I wish to take this opportunity to admit that there have been times that my sexual conduct has fallen below the standards expected of me as a priest, archbishop and cardinal,” Cardinal Keith O’Brien said in a statement. [ View ]
Compare this course of action with that from six-time accused priest Father Dan Ward and Saint John’s Abbey in Collegeville, Minnesota in a recent article by Jason Berry:
St. John’s Abbey responded to questions about Ward with a statement saying that he “has not committed any act of sexual abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult. There is no known investigation of Father Daniel being conducted by any law enforcement, public agency or ecclesiastical body.” [ View ]

Father Dan Ward is currently under investigation. According to Fox 9 in Minneapolis [ View ] he has been since October of 2012.
Father Dan Ward has been credibly accused of grooming at least one minor and abusing at least five vulnerable adults (including three students and two young monks).
When a student came to Father Dan Ward with allegations of misconduct by Father Finian McDonald and Father Bruce Wollmering, Father Ward allegedly threatened to expel the student from school. These allegations were brought forward in a case that was recently settled by Saint John’s Abbey.
Like Cardinal O’Brien, Father Dan Ward is a predator.
